The Student Scholarship Program is funded and administered by the West Covina Lions Club. It was established by our Club to promote student participation in community service and to recognize exceptional students who show promise of continued service.
Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit. The recipient must be enrolled in and attend an institution of higher education beginning the Fall Term of the 2017-2018 academic year.

Each high school student wishing to submit an application for the West Covina Lions Student Scholarship must submit completed application materials. A complete packet includes the application and an essay of no more than 500 words in which the student describes:
All applications, including complete materials, must be submitted postmarked or received by the Student Scholarship Chair of the West Covina Lions Club by the application deadline of April 1, 2017.

All applicants will be notified of their status in May 2017. Following a review of all applicants, top candidates will be invited for an interview by a committee of Lions members. The awardees will be invited to attend a luncheon meeting to receive recognition of the award and to address the Lions membership. Luncheon meetings are on Tuesdays at the West Covina Holiday Inn, 3223 East Garvey North. Weekly meetings are at noon except the last Tuesday of the month when the meeting is at 6 p.m.
Scholarship payments will be processed during the Fall Term of the 2017-18 academic year. Payments will be made directly to the educational institution once proof of registration has been submitted.
